Jennie teaches the game in thoughtful layers - using a clear, step-by-step approach that connects the game to familiar concepts. She honors the traditions and respect that make Mahjongg timeless while making the learning process approachable and accessible.

This class is designed for those who have never played in person - the true beginner. Players will learn tiles, terminology, the NMJL card, Charleston, exposures, and foundational strategy in a structured, supportive setting. The instruction continues on day two, reinforcing best practices, strengthening decision-making, and building the consistency that makes smooth gameplay feel more natural. Players will deepen their understanding of NMJL rules, table procedures, and game flow while gaining comfort at the table.

Once you complete this class, join open play opportunities to reinforce what you have learned.

Learn American Mahjongg together in a fun, welcoming private group. The Beginner Combo, but held in your choice of location with your people!

This two-session class is designed for groups of 4-12 players. The host is responsible for securing the venue, providing tables and chairs, and sharing the registration link with participants. Jennie provides the registration link, all instruction materials, instruction, resources and next steps.

This private option is perfect for neighborhoods, friend groups, social clubs, churches, book clubs, and organizations looking to learn together in a relaxed, personalized setting. This Private Group Experience is $55 per person for the two day event (5 hours of instruction).

Whether you’re building confidence as a newer player or preparing for more competitive play, this 3-hour personalized experience provides immediate feedback in a supportive, hands-on setting.

1. Beginner Guided Play:
   Play with 4 four players while receiving real-time guidance through the Charleston, game flow, and beginner decision-making. Strengthen your confidence, reinforce the rules, and build the rhythm needed to play comfortably on your own. $30 per person
2. Tournament Prep Guided Play (3 players + Jennie at the table)
   Take a deeper dive into competitive play by having Jennie play at the table with you. This experience focuses on tournament pacing, observation skills, common mistakes, table etiquette, and correcting habits that can cost you during league or tournament play. Additional tournament-specific rules and procedures can also be discussed as they arise during gameplay. $35 per person

The Rule Reset is an interactive workshop designed to get everyone on the same page about American Mahjongg. Together, we’ll distinguish between official National Mahjongg League rules, game etiquette, and common house rules - so you know which is which before sitting with old friends or new.

Each session begins with discussion of commonly misunderstood, or debated situations. Players are encouraged to ask questions, making every workshop unique. Jennie explains each topic using official National Mahjongg League resources and references, along with the reasoning behind the rule.

The group then puts those concepts into practice through gameplay. When questions arise, play pauses so everyone can learn from real game situations together.

Designed for larger groups of 8+ players, The Rule Reset helps you build confidence, improve consistency, and play organized Mahjongg with clarity. $25 per player

American Mahjongg helps children develop pattern recognition, working memory, strategic thinking, focus, patience, and decision-making skills through engaging, screen-free play. Every hand is a new mystery to crack as you spot patterns, make clever moves, and race to complete your hand! Jennie and her team teach NMJL rules using kid friendly tiles.

The Teen Table introduces American Mahjongg using official NMJL rules, taught at a teen pace alongside other students learning together.
Players build focus, memory, and strategic thinking while learning patterns, making decisions, and gaining confidence at the table—all in a social, screen-free environment.

Looking to bring Mahjongg to your neighborhood, club, church, retirement community, or town? This experience is designed for communities that don’t yet have an established Mahjongg group.

Jennie provides a thoughtful roadmap - from teaching true beginners to helping establish regular play opportunities and building the confidence needed for the group to continue meeting long after class ends. She works alongside organizers to create a welcoming, sustainable American Mahjongg community where new players can continue learning, playing, and inviting others to the table.
